Looking for a Part-Time Job in Retirement?

Last update on: Mar 15 2020

Many people report that they don’t really want to retire, but they’d like to stay active with some kind of work or they need the additional money. The condition of the job market makes it difficult for many retirees or near-retirees to find the part-time job they’d like. Here’s one suggestion. Consider signing up as an employee of TaskRabbit. It’s a web site. I’ve never used it. But you might want to check it out if you’re looking for some part-time income or if you have a lot of tasks you’d like to pay someone else to do. You can read one person’s experience here.

After passing the phone interview and background check, I made a bid on my first task—to deliver a letter and flowers . It was easy to do, not too far from home and kind of fun to make a secret delivery and walk away with $15.

In fact, I liked it so much, I kept going.

The best part of the “job” was that I felt in control of my schedule and could take on as much or as little responsibility per day or per week as I wanted.
