New Year’s resolutions usually aren’t kept. Most people don’t know how to make life changes that will endure. Here’s some good advice for people in their fifties and older. It gives good ideas on the type of changes to consider and how to keep those promises to yourself.

But we should resolve to examine critically the feasibility of aging in place. Does your house meet your changing needs in retirement? Beyond simple financial matters such as the cost of maintaining your current home through retirement, there are other practical considerations. For example, a multistory home may make it difficult to live safely and comfortably with reduced mobility.
